This policy explains what data lolajam collects, why, and what control you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the directory.

What we collect

• Account data — if you sign up: your email, an encrypted (hashed) password, and an optional name.
• Submissions — venues or listings you add, including any contact details you choose to provide.
• Email subscriptions — your email address if you opt into city or venue updates.
• Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting analytics such as page views and referrers, to understand what’s useful.
• Essential cookies — a single signed cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To run and improve the directory, display the listings you submit, sign you in, send the updates you asked for, process featured-listing payments, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your data.

Email

We only email you about things you opted into (such as new venues in your city) or that relate to your account or submissions. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it permanently. Email is delivered through our email provider (Brevo).

Third parties we rely on

• Stripe — processes payments for featured listings. We never see or store full card details.
• Brevo — sends our emails.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — powers the venue map and converts addresses to map pins.
• Amazon Associates — affiliate links on gear pages.

Each processes data only as needed to provide its service.

Retention

We keep your data while your account or subscription is active, and only as long as needed afterwards for legal and operational reasons. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data, and unsubscribe from emails whenever you like. To make a request, use the contact page.
